WRITTEN CONSENTS FOR E-MAIL NOTICES:  STATE LAW REQUIRES RSG TO OBTAIN MEMBERS’ WRITTEN CONSENT TO E-MAIL NOTICE OF RSG BUSINESS

Have you wondered why RSG requests RSG members to provide us with written consent to the use of e-mail to give notice and send communications to RSG members who have provided us with e-mail addresses?

The answer is simple: we are required by the California Corporations Code to get such consent in order to use e-mail to communicate with our members. Sections 20 and 7511(b) of the California Corporations Code require nonprofit mutual benefit corporations like RSG to obtain the written, signed consent of every RSG member for whom RSG uses e-mail to give notices of meetings and RSG business. If you don't provide us with this written consent, we may NOT use e-mail to communicate RSG business and notices to you.

To access the form to give RSG your written consent for E-mail communications, and to read an explanation of that form, click on the following link. Then print the form, complete and sign it, and mail it by U.S. Mail to RSG at the following address: Retiree Support Group, P.O. Box 3165, Martinez, CA 94553. Thank you.
